The Indian Accountability Center (IAC)
The Indian Accountability Center (IAC) is an initiative aimed at strengthening Indian democracy by holding various institutions and individuals in power accountable for the promises they make to the public. IAC endeavors to discover, track, and publish these promises along with their status, and also seeks to leverage the judicial process to ensure their fulfillment.
IAC believes that nobody is inherently bad or intends to do harm; rather, people and institutions are influenced by the prevailing operating ecosystem, which is often shaped by information asymmetry.
By transparently bringing promises and their outcomes to public attention, we at IAC believe we can alleviate some of this information asymmetry, thereby fostering a more constructive decision-making environment.
As this work is ongoing, we recognize the need for continual course corrections and value the intelligence of the crowd to better inform our direction. You can reach us at info@indiaaccountabilitycenter.org to contribute and help build this initiative together.
